I'm a research plant ecologist with broad interests. My specialty is estimating forest change, but also have background in molecular biology, evolution, and climatic estimates from tree rings. I'm also highly interested in the assessment of scientific methods and the logical basis of scientific inference. Currently, I am working on estimates of forest change in the United States over the last two centuries, and on assessing the validity of existing tree ring analysis methods.
